Sanskruti Kala Darpan(SKD) has been doing a commendable job of not only preserving the culture of Maharashtra, but also encouraging all those who are helping the society to do so. For the past ten years SKD has not just recognized the talent of stage, television and films but also from the art and music world. During the last few years SKD also extended their hand to promote Childrens plays, Folk art and singing competition to tap fresh talents in this field.

At this most crucial time, when people are forgetting their traditional values, SKD thought of bringing together school children by hosting Inter school competitions for drawing, art and crafts, story telling and poetry to remind one and all about the customary Indian culture. So far 4000 children from 80 schools in Mumbai and Thane have been part of their competitions. Besides honouring the best performers from Marathi films, television serials and stage plays, SKD has also honoured the best teachers, TV channels and other dignitaries from the field of Public welfare. This year, they also wish to honour some well known doctors for their contribution to the society.

SKD has been doing selfless service to the society on no profit no loss basis and it is only with the help of well wishers that the show goes on. This being the 10th year of celebration, the function will be a grand show. Looking at the response towards reality shows on various television channels, we at SKD also thought of involving public participation .
